Cosmic Nanny

  The first precept is born from the awareness that lives everywhere are being destroyed. We see the suffering caused by destruction of life, and we vow to cultivate compassion and use it as a source of energy for the protection of all.  No act of killing can be justified. And not to kill is not enough.  We must learn ways to prevent others from killing. We cannot condone any act of killing, even in our minds.  The mind is the base of all actions. Thich Nhat Hanh Violence is never the answer. We are here to serve others, and in doing so all selves benefit 100 fold. 

I don’t need a personification of the Divine. God is energy, energy is life. I will replace the word ‘power’ with energy. ‘Power’ implies superiority and I truly believe we are all in this together. Unity is power?…Unity is energy. The truth is that it is more than power, it is more than self, it is the unity of creation, it is energy manifest through compassion. God is consciousness and we are God’s consciousness. The only real word for God is Love. Empathy is key. Life is about relationships and serving the self through acts of service to others. It is about no more excuses and taking responsibility for the energy you create with your thoughts, words and actions. We are energy beings and energy is Spirit. We are Spirit/Mind/Body complexes. We are manifestations of consciousness, God-energy is consciousness and energy is life therefore all of creation is God. More simply, we are God’s consciousness.  The higher good is about unity not isolation. Being an island unto oneself is not...
